Southern Colorado CareConnect in La Junta opens service in July, 2015
\"WJ<\/a>SOUTHERN\u2008COLORADO \u2014 REACH Air Medical Services announces the opening of its new air ambulance base in La Junta, Colorado, which will operate under the name Southern Colorado CareConnect. \u00a0
This much needed and anticipated emergency medical helicopter service will provide Pueblo County and an expansive surrounding region with 24\/7\/365 emergency medical transport.\u00a0
CareConnect is the result of several years of collaborative negotiation on the parts of REACH, headquartered in Northern California and Parkview Medical Center, located in Pueblo, Colorado. \u00a0The culmination of their efforts means that the many thousands of residents in this area, as well as visitors to the region, will have tremendously improved access to critical care air transport services, which is especially crucial in rural and rugged areas. \u00a0
The La Junta location was chosen because it is centrally located among the many rural hospitals that designate Parkview Medical Center as their preferred tertiary care destination for critically ill and injured patients. \u00a0These facilities, which include hospitals in Lamar, Eads, Trinidad, Walsenburg and Raton, New Mexico, have been enthusiastic advocates for CareConnect\u2019s life-saving services. \u00a0CareConnect is proud to have partnered with Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center.

Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center in Walsenburg is also another support facility which celebrated its launch on Tuesday September 8, 2015.\u00a0
Spanish Peaks Regional Health Care Center was built in 1993 in Huerfano County, Colorado and is a 20 bed critical access hospital with a Level IV Trauma Certified Emergency Room. Their physicians and nurses are all certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Trauma to provide the most advanced care to our patients. Spanish Peaks Hospital maintains mutual agreements and contracts with all local emergency medical service agencies and with all transfer facilities north of their location with a higher level of care to coordinate seamless critical care treatment.\u00a0
