Zubal Sr."},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Thomas E. &#8220;Tom&#8221; Zubal Sr. passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on AprilL 28, 2015 at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice Center, following a brief stay at Parkview Medical Center, in Pueblo, CO.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Tom was born on April 20, 1939, in Walsenburg, CO, to Agnes and Joe Zubal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">He attended elementary school at the Dan Schoolhouse in Ideal Canyon, then St. Mary&#8217;s High School in Walsenburg. Following graduation, he briefly worked for Vinodi Sawmill.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">In 1958, Tom began working for Mountain States Telephone &amp; Telegraph Company, Mountain Bell, US West and finally retired from Qwest after 42 1\/2 years as a Central Office Tech.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">On June 27, 1959, Tom was\u00a0\u00a0united\u00a0\u00a0in marriage to Margaret\u00a0Pachorek,\u00a0and they had two children.\u00a0 Tom moved to Hoehne in 1977 and began farming and running cattle on the family ranch in Walsenburg until 2002.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Tom enjoyed fishing, gambling , spending\u00a0 time with his family and taking drives in the country with his wife Marge.\u00a0 His greatest joy was teaching his son and grandson to fish.\u00a0 He also loved restoring his 1950 Case tractor and entering it in the Labor Day Parade.\u00a0 One of Papa&#8217;s favorite things was being ornery and teasing his grandkids.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">He was preceded in death by his parents Agnes and Joe Zubal, brother Joey, brother in law Martin Campagnola, brother in law, Leroy Hasenack and in laws, Tony and Mabel Pachorek.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret A. Zubal, children,\u00a0Marla Kay (Robbie) Skalko and Thomas (Doris) Zubal Jr., grandchildren, Jarrod Skalko and Jeni Skalko (Brian Scuzzaro), siblings, Ethel Campagnola, Barbara (Bob) Vining, sister in law, Frances Hasenack, along with numerous nieces and nephews.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Tom was the best Husband, Dad, Papa, and Father In Law . He\u00a0will always be remembered.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Visitation\u00a0will be Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 1PM-6PM at\u00a0the Comi Chapel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Entombment will follow at the Guardian Angel Mausoleum, Trinidad, Catholic\u00a0Cemetery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Honorary pallbearers will be Tom&#8217;s many friends.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Active pallberers are Marty Campagnola, Ron Tokar, Steve Sciacca, \u00a0Anthony Cirone, Ron Cirone,and Brett Tamburelli.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Condolences can be sent to the family at P.O.
