Sanchez"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Charles R. Sanchez, age 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on May 14, 2026, at his home in Raton, NM. He was born May 11, 1945, in Rocky Ford, CO, a son of the late John and Cora Sanchez. Charles served his country in the United States Army, where he received a Good Conduct, National Defense Service, and Marksman (Rifle) medals. He loved collecting cars, coins, and guns.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Emma Vigil Sanchez and daughter Sheila Rose Sanchez, brothers Harold and Albert Sanchez, and sisters Rebecca Torrez, Mary Ellen Benavidez, and Joann Fresquez. He is survived by his son, Jerry Sanchez (Sue) of Raton, NM, his three grandchildren, Vanessa Duran (Louis), \u00a0Jerry Sanchez Jr. (Tiffini), and Juan Carlos Sanchez, and seven great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Gloria Coleman (Bill) of St. George, Utah, brother Dennis Sanchez (Christine) of Nixa, Missouri, Judy Casias (Raton), Andrew Casias (Sherry) Meeker, CO, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.<\/p>\n<p>A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Fairmont Cemetery at 10:00 AM with a luncheon to follow at the Raton VFW in Raton. We invite all who knew and loved Charlie to join us in honoring his memory.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements for Charles R.
