He lived in many other places during his growing-up and adult years, but he never forgot his Las Animas County roots. In fact, in recent years he has become an important local historian. He has written a number of books covering various subjects concerning the history of the local area, and has generously donated his books to the Library&#8217;s History Room.<\/p>\n<p>Vigil&#8217;s recent book, History of Education in Las Animas County 1866-1966, is a great addition to his work. Phillip will be at the Library on Thursday morning, June 13th, from 9:30 to 10:30. Come and meet Phillip, talk with him about local history, and buy a copy of his new book.
