The\u00a0Antlers & Pearls NM Concealed Carry (CCW) Class<\/strong>\u00a0is a comprehensive 2-day firearms training course designed for both new and experienced students seeking to earn their New Mexico concealed carry certification. Taught by\u00a0Ira Simpson<\/strong>, a USCCA-certified instructor, this course covers essential concealed carry and home defense fundamentals, including safety and legal considerations, handgun handling and selection, shooting fundamentals, gear and accessories, and the physiological aspects of violent encounters.<\/p>\n

Students will participate in both classroom sessions and live fire range exercises to build confidence and competence with their firearm. The CCW class meets all New Mexico state requirements for permit certification, and attendees who complete the course will receive the documentation needed to apply for their concealed carry license. Pre-registration is required, and students are encouraged to bring their own firearm, ammunition, and appropriate shooting gear.<\/p>\n

Basic Gun Safety Rules<\/h3>\n

  1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.<\/strong>\u00a0Common sense will tell you which direction is the safest depending on your surroundings.<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.<\/strong>\u00a0When holding a gun, rest your trigger finger outside the trigger guard alongside the gun. This will often be the hardest part for kids to remember.<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.<\/strong>\u00a0Demonstrate to your child how to check if a gun is loaded and where the safety mechanism is located.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
