DESCRIPTION:New Mexico MainStreet has chosen the historic Shuler Theater as the venue for its Historic Theaters Institute on Friday\, June 19\, 2015. Participants must register in advance. \n  \nOne of the original curtains at the Shuler. The picture of nearby Palisades of the Cimarron\, the curtain was made of 4×25 foot canvas panels and painted with water colors!\nRevitalizing and operating a historic theater is a challenging community development project that can have catalytic effects for a business district. A successful movie theater or multipurpose performing arts theater requires dynamic promotion and programming strategies that can attract many diverse audiences for fun\, entertainment and community building.
