SUMMARY:A Study of Gyroscopes and How They Behave
DESCRIPTION:One of the most counter-intuitive contraptions in nature is the gyroscope. Gyroscopes are all around us\, and I’m not talking about the toy gyroscopes we loved to play with as kids. Anything that turns about an axis will behave with gyroscopic action. Some examples: \nBicycle wheels\nFloor polishers\nInertial guidance system components\nStabilizers for rockets and ships\nThe planet earth\nJoin us for a study of gyroscopes and how they behave. We’ll have amazing demonstrations\, and lots of fun. \nThis is a program for anyone from 10 to 100 years old. It’s on this coming Monday\, August 20 at 5:00PM in the Community Room.
