Early Morning Search Warrant Leads to Major Narcotics Seizure
On the morning of February 6, 2026, officers of the Raton Police Department executed a search warrant at 1032 North 1st Street following an investigation that began with a routine traffic stop.
During that traffic stop, officers identified information and evidence that led them to the residence of Art Armijo. Based on the findings, investigators quickly developed probable cause and obtained a judicially authorized search warrant for Armijo’s home.
In the early morning hours, officers executed the warrant safely and without incident. During the search of the residence, officers located and seized the following:
• $4,375.00 in U.S. currency
• 1.605 pounds of methamphetamine
• 39.17 grams of suspected fentanyl pills
• 18.15 grams of black tar heroin
• 5.20 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms
• 379.26 grams (0.836 pounds) of fentanyl powder
As a result of the investigation, Art Armijo has been arrested and charged with:
• Three counts of Trafficking Controlled Substances (Methamphetamine, Heroin, and Fentanyl)
• One count of Possession of Suspected Psilocybin Mushrooms
This operation reflects the continued dedication of our officers to safeguard our community and prevent dangerous narcotics from harming our residents.
