2025-26 Sloat Prince Scholarship Winner Announced

Shirley Prince, President of the Sloat Prince Foundation Board of Directors, is proud to announce its new student scholarship recipient for the 2025-2026 school year, Daeja Martinez.  Daeja graduated from Cimarron High School in 2024, and attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces her first college year.  Daeja is majoring in social work, with the goal of assisting children and families in need. In addition, fourteen other continuing scholars received continuation of their yearly three thousand dollar scholarships as returning recipients.

The Sloat Prince Foundation was established in 2006 as a charitable foundation by Ruth and Shirley Prince to support charitable, educational, theatrical, cultural, and community improvements in Colfax County.  Since 2006, the Foundation has awarded over four hundred thousand dollars in scholarships to graduates of Colfax County high schools.  Secondary schools of any nature, trade schools, certificate programs and the like are all considered equally by the Board.  The application process will continue next year with a June 15, 2026 deadline for applications.  The Board urges any eligible students from Colfax County high schools to apply annually.
