Vada Ruby Denman 86 began her heavenly journey on February 25, 2026, in Aurora, CO surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 15, 1939, in Tafoya, NM to the late Tilio and Eloisa Maestas who resided in Farley, NM. Vada was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Aurora, CO.
Besides her parents, Vada was preceded in death by her son Christopher Denman, four brothers, Elijio, Antonio, Tilio Jr., Santiago and a sister Emma Maestas. Survivors include her son, Martin (Marty) Maestas, Centennial, two grandsons, Joshua and Matthew, Aurora, seven sisters, Dorothy Archuleta, Albuquerque, Prudence Romero, Springer, Angie Johnson (Jerry) Farley, Gloria LaFond, Centennial, Mary Romero (Bernie), Denver, Marcella Maestas, Denver, Vera Apodaca (Richard), Dumas, brother, Victor Maestas, Springer, and nephew Anthony Archuleta, Farley. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Advantage Runyan Stevenson Funeral Home, 6425 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO 80226 from 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Springer, NM. Solemn Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30am and interment will be at the Palo Blanco Cemetery in Chico, NM.
