Myra Beth Fresquez, 86, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at her home in Guymon.
The daughter of Filemon and Amadita (Gonzales) Fresquez. She was born July 6, 1939 at the Llano de San Juan community in Taos County, New Mexico. Myra graduated from Peñasco, NM High School and then earned her Registered Nursing Degree. She had worked as an RN in New Mexico, Kansas and Oklahoma.
Myra had moved to Guymon from Las Vegas, NM in 1991 and attended the Sunset Lane Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children: Gary Fresquez of Raton, NM; Sharon Fresquez of Davenport, IA; Rick Barela of Dalhart, TX and Aimee Romero of Denver, CO. She had three grandsons and one granddaughter. Two sisters also survive, Gladys Martinez of Raton and Della Alejandro of Santa Fe. In Guymon she had a host of friends and neighbors.
At her request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements are under the care of the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
