In Loving Memory of James Cade Welch, 73, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on January 17,2026 at his home in Moriarty, NM. Cade was born on February 8,1952 to the late J. Weldon and Joan (Cade) Welch in Quanah, TX.
He was a 1970 graduate of Raton High School. In August 1970, he joined the United States Navy. He served until March 1973. After his service he worked on the Moore Ranch. In March 1975, he married Linda (Cervo) Welch at her parents (Joe and Louise Cervo’s) home in Raton. They resided in Kiowa and had three children, Linda Jo (Welch) Banda, (Beau) James Cade Welch Jr, and Julie Ann (Welch) Ramirez.
He is proceeded in death by his father, J. Weldon Welch, his mother, Joan (Cade) Welch, his sister, Muryl Hart Welch, and his daughter, Julie Ann (Welch) Ramirez.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Linda (Cervo) Welch, his daughter, Linda Jo (Welch) Banda, his son, (Beau) James Cade Welch Jr., his son-in-law, Lindolfo Ramirez, his sister, M. Hope (Welch) Donlan, his brother, A. Wade Welch, his grandchildren, Tristan Banda, Analisa Banda, Bailey (Welch) Vance and husband Dakota, Aspen Medina, Mariah Ramirez, Makayla Ramirez, and Mason C. Welch, and eight great grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family and longtime friends.
He will be missed dearly by all who loved him. We know you are with Our Lord pain free. Until we see you again rest in peace.
