Henry Allen Moltrer, age 31, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2026, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was born in Trinidad, Colorado on July 29, 1994, to Dean Moltrer and Darla LePlatt.
Henry graduated from Hoehne High School in 2013. He graduated from Trinidad State Junior College in 2014, with a degree in welding.
Henry had a creative side and loved drawing, as well as working with his hands through welding and wrenching on his trucks. Baseball and football were other passions of his, whether he was playing or watching. Henry was a devoted fan of his three favorite teams, the Colorado Avalanche, the Texas Longhorns, and the New England Patriots. Henry’s most cherished pastime was hunting and fishing. He lived life to the fullest by breathing the cool morning air and tracking his next big game. When you say Henry, you think of elk! Above all else, Henry cherished being a dad, taking great pride in his children and finding his greatest joy in the time he spent with them.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Henry F. Moltrer; maternal grandparents, Bob and Jacquie LePlatt and grandmother Margie Santistevan; Uncle Ernie Moltrer and special friend Austin Baca-Cordova.
He is survived by his parents Dean (Shelly) Moltrer, Darla (Jonathan) Thompson, children, Julianne K. Moltrer, Oaklynn M. Moltrer, Wynonna M. Moltrer, Hoyt A. Moltrer, Hunter Moltrer; Brothers, Vincent (Marissa) Moltrer, Beau Santistevan, Drew (Kelsey) Santistevan, Antonio Moltrer, Matteo Moltrer and Jackson Thompson; Sister, Kaylee (Mike) Thompson; Step-father, Cliff Santistevan; Paternal Grandmother, Annette Moltrer; Uncles and Aunts, Glenn (Claudine) Moltrer, Colleen (Tom) Schultz, Jerry (Shelly) LePlatt, Deb (Jim) Chongway, Ray (LaDonna) Moltrer; Cousins, Robert (Kim) Schultz, Andrew Schultz, Gabriel (Kori) Moltrer, Robert LePlatt, Danae (Victor) Enriquez, Tyler (Victoria) Moltrer, Gregg LePlatt, Dalton (Christina) Chongway, Trystan Moltrer, Giada Moltrer.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 15, 2026, at First Christian Church at 10am. Burial will follow at the Moltrer Family Cemetery, 23571 County Road 18.2, Valdez, Colorado. Arrangements made under the direction of Comi Funeral Home.
