Sara Nicole Sanchez

Sara passed away on October 5, 2025. She was born on May 25, 1993 to Odelia Torres and Michael Sanchez in Wray, Colorado. She was raised in Trinidad, Colorado and graduated from Trinidad High School. She later studied welding at Trinidad State Junior College.
Sara was a lover of animals, especially the family dog Bambi, and loved cats, owls, and horses. She was an active member of the Trinidad Catholic Church and was a dedicated mother. Sara loved her daughter Essence Isabelle Salazar and husband to be, Gary Salazar with all her heart. She was full of life and laughter, something she would share with all those near. She stood firmly for what she believed, and everyone knew she would not budge.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Odelia Torres and Michael Sanchez, and grandparents: Lupe and Zeke Sanchez, and Antonio De Jesus Torres.
She is survived by her daughter: Essence Isabelle Salazar, her fiancé: Gary Salazar, step mother: Sherry Cordova, grandmother: Zelma Torres, siblings: Trisha, Jaime, and Michael Sanchez, brother in-law; Anthony Amador, nephews: Sonny and Don Gonzales, Luciano Sanchez, Domingo Garcia, and Isaiah and Gabriel Sanchez, nieces: Celeste Sanchez and Sunshine Gonzales, cousins: Leonard, David, John, and Manuel Torres, Ashley Sanchez, Susie Gates, Lisa and Geralee Marquez, aunts: Elsie Ortiz, Diane and Liz Torres, uncles: Leonard, Pete, Eddie, and Reuben Torres, Salvador Ortiz, Bob Aragon, Tom, Joe, Steve, and George Sanchez, as well as friends: Geoffrey Gonzales, Larry Suazo, Christian Martinez, Krystine Lovato, Tekla and Lupe Tafoya, Maria Genoveva, and Aaliyah Vigil.
Rosary will be held on held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 12:30 pm, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad and services will follow on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 1 pm. She will then be laid to rest at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
The family has entrusted Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home with the arrangements.
