Larry Eugene Archuleta Sr.

Larry Eugene Archuleta Sr., age 64 of Raton, NM, passed away peacefully in his home on September 25, 2025, in Portland, Texas.
Born on July 16th, 1961, in Springer, NM, to Teresa and Henry Archuleta Sr., He attended Cimarron High School until getting his degree in 1979 and serving in the Army National Guard from 1979-1987. Larry worked at the sawmill in Cimarron with his father and worked at City Market in Raton for many years. In 2003, he married his wife Vanessa and together they ran Larry’s Barbershop and Vanessa’s Nails until they moved to Texas.
Aside from being an accomplished barber, he was a mechanic and an experienced carpenter, and handyman as well. Larry was a lifetime member of the Raider Nation and loved his family, his food, and New Mexico music. Larry had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Archuleta Sr., and sister Tina Archuleta. He is survived by his wife Vanessa Archuleta, His mother Teresa Archuleta, brother Henry Archuleta ( Mary), sisters Kathy Salazar (Phillip), April Gomez (Louie), Angela Muniz and Stephanie Preciado (John), brother-in-law Andrew Padilla, sisters-in-law Sabrina Padilla, Brandy Carrasco and Krystal Encinias (Leonard). He leaves behind his children, Larry Archuleta Jr. (Edith), Victoria Archuleta, Dion Padilla and Vangie Penner (Kevin). As well as his grandchildren, Jaelyn, Jordon, Troy, Alexia, Hailey and Nylah. And numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
