Richard John Gutowski, a proud veteran of the U.S. NAVY passed away September 11,2025.
The son of Richard T Gutowski and Patricia lt/l Ouellette, Richard grew up in Chicago, lLL, He was born August 19, 1961.
At the age of 18, Richard enlisted in the U.S. NAVY’, he valued this service highly and attained the rank of RM1/E6. As part of this service, he went through extensive training to become a submariner and received the Submarine Warfare insignia, also known as the “dolphins”. Throughout his 20 years of service, he was deployed to several areas of the world and received multiple accommodations.
Richard is survived by his mother Patricia M Winters, Siblings Bridget (Mike) Srader, Christine Kilpatrick, Peter (Brandy) Gutowski, Cathe (Tony) Wolfe, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Richard’s loved ones will remember him for being loving, giving and stern.
Richard is preceded in death by his father Richard Thomas Gutowski, Paternal grandparents Alex (Frances Tryczak) Gutowski, Edward (Mae M Crouschere) and (Helene McManis) Ouellette.
A service honoring the life of Richard John Gutowski will be held at the Comi Funeral Home in Trinidad, Colorado on September 23, 2025, visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 AM and his funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at Comi Funeral Home.
