In Loving Memory of Mary Ellen ” Dee Dee” Gonzales

Mary Ellen ” Dee Dee” Gonzales
Feb. 17, 1952 ~ Jul. 27, 2025
We gather in loving memory to honor the life of Mary Ellen “Dee Dee” Gonzales, who left us on July 27, 2025. Born on February 17, 1952, Dee Dee’s vibrant spirit was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Her charismatic personality made her the life of any gathering, and her humor could bring a smile to anyone’s face. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love knew no bounds. The center of her universe were her family, friends, and her beloved granddaughter, Aja.
Dee Dee was a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, but her adventurous spirit took her from the sunny beaches of Los Angeles, California to the peaceful landscapes of Raton, New Mexico, and from the vibrant community of Hanna, Wyoming to the welcoming towns of Rawlins, Wyoming and Craig, Colorado. As a homemaker, she created warm,
loving spaces that reflected her personality everywhere she went. Dee Dee’s home was always filled with laughter, music, and dance. Her greatest joy was supporting her granddaughter Aja’s passion for dance. Dee Dee’s enthusiasm for life was contagious, whether she was cheering on the Las Vegas Aces, singing along to the oldies, or embarking on a new adventure with her “Amiga”, Iris.
Her loving spirit is carried on by her husband of 52 years Robert Gonzales, her daughter Patricia (Gregory) Green, her son Gabriel Gonzales, her granddaughter Aja Green, her parents Margarita (Raul) Aguilar, her brothers Louie, Steve (Silvia) Aguilar, Mike Aguilar, her beloved sister Angel Aguilar, and a community of close friends and family. She is preceded in death by her brother John “JJ” Aguilar. As we remember Dee Dee, we find comfort in the words of St. Paul to the Romans (Romans 8:38-39) “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Indeed, nothing can separate us from the love and memories we hold of Dee Dee.
We invite you to celebrate the life and spirit of Mary Ellen “Dee Dee” Gonzales by sharing your memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. This is not just a page, but a living tribute to a woman whose love, charisma, and sense of adventure touched us all. Let us remember Dee Dee not with tears, but with smiles and laughter, as she would have wanted
