Marlene L. Veltri
Obituary
Marlene Louise (Fouret) Veltri, 88, of Trinidad was called home to rest with our Lord on June 8,
2025. She was born in Trinidad, Colorado on April 24, 1937, to George and Mary (Barrett)
Fouret.
Marlene attended and graduated from Trinidad Catholic High School and on June 28, 1958, she
was united in marriage to Frank Veltri at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Together they welcomed
three sons: George, Frank and Michael.
Marlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed tending to her flower
garden, crocheting, knitting, sewing, ceramics, and cooking. In addition to her family, Marlene
worked outside the home. She was a Mt. Bell telephone operator, sold Stanley Home Products,
Home Interiors, was an assistant cook at Trinidad Catholic, a staff member at the Trinidad
Nursing Home, and office manager for Trinidad Monument Works.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, George Fouret and Mary Fouret-Rasher, her
husband, Frank, her youngest son, Michael, siblings George Fouret and Alberta Kerby,
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fiore and Eleanor Veltri, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law,
John and Helen Veltri.
Survivors include sons: George (Sandy), Frank (Donna), daughter-in-law, Dana; grandchildren:
Lori (Terry) Freson, Alex (Jen) Veltri, Kevin (Lacey) Veltri, Chris (Nikki) Veltri, Victoria (Keith)
Tucker, and Megan (Will) Veltri; great-grandchildren: Madison Veltri, Eddie Trancoso, Lea
Abeyta, Ellie Abeyta, Oliver Monaghan, Brandon Freson, Michael Freson, Cassidy Tucker,
Tessa Tucker, Rocco Tucker, Jayla Pouncil, and Azariah Pouncil. Loving sister-in-law Elizabeth
Fouret and brother-in-law James (Carole) Kerby. Marlene leaves behind numerous nephews,
nieces, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on June 12, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Comi Funeral Home. A Rosary will be
recited on June 12 at 6:00 p.m., at Comi Funeral Home. The funeral will be on June 13, at 10:00
am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Internment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers are her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
The family has entrusted Comi Funeral Home with the arrangements.
