Aleta June “ Sis” Lucas
Sis passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Trinidad Nursing Home May 17, 2025. She was
born November 23, 1924 in Melvern, KS. to Harley and Mabel (Cochran) Starr. On July 2, 1940
she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lucas Sr. in Lamar, Colorado. They raised a family
of five children: Norma, Bob, Fred, Tom, and Larry in Valdez, CO.
In addition to her parents Harley and Mabel Starr, she was preceded in death by her sister
Donna DuPont, brother Francis Starr and his wife Helen Starr, in – laws Lloyd and Dorothy
Lucas, Clyde and Virginia Lucas, Kenneth and Virginia Lucas, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Lucas. She also lost her grandson Joshua Lucas, daughter Norma Howlett and John Howlett,
daughter – in- law Linda Lucas and sons Tom and Bob Lucas.
She is survived and loved by Larry and Tammy (DeCristino) Lucas, Lori (Antista) Lucas, Fred
Lucas, Kathy (Wold) Lucas. Grandchildren Robert and Jenn Whitley, Will Whitley, Melissa
(Lucas) and Shawn Cooper, Adam and Sandy Lucas, marissa Madrid, Jason and Ashley Lucas,
Nolan and Mickole Lucas, Logan and Annika Lucas and numerous great grandchildren and
many nieces and nephews.
Sis retired from her job in the U.S. Postal office and worked in both the Weston and Segundo
offices.
A celebration of her life will be Thursday May 29, 2025, Comi Funeral Home at 11:00 am. In lieu
of flowers the family asks you to “Pay it forward” by donating to a charity of your choice.
