Alijah Jeremiah Marquez, 28, a beloved figure of Aurora, CO, sadly left our world on May 12, 2025. From the moment he came into our lives on July 18, 1996, in Raton, NM, he filled our hearts with immeasurable love and laughter. With each passing year, he blossomed into a remarkable individual, achieving big and small milestones. His biggest was graduating from CU Denver with a bachelor’s degree, and he continued to work for the family business as a Project Manager
Alijah was a beacon of kindness with a gentle soul that touched all who knew him. His laughter, his singing, and playing the guitar echoed through our home, a melody of happiness that will forever resonate in our memories. He was passionate about music, hunting, and fishing, and very family orientated.
Alijah survived by his parents, Jack and Arla Marquez, his older sisters Angeleah Marquez and Alyssa Martinez, and his two nieces, Reaya Martinez and Amara Torbert. Grandparents Priscillia and Charles Gilbert, and numerous Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins,
Alijah proceeded in death by grandparents Joe and Nancy Marquez, and Frances H. Marquez, Great Grandparents Raymond and Cleo Apodaca, Mary and Eddie Gilbert, and Abenicio and Eleanor Marquez.
Honorary Pallbearers: Jeremy Gilbert, Jarrod Gilbert, JoeAngel Marquez, John Sandoval, Jerrod Durran, and Nathan Durran.
May 30, 2025, Services will be held at St. Patrick’s – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 105 Buena Vista Street, Raton, NM 87740. Rosary at 11:00, Mass and burial will follow. Dinner will be held at the church hall.
June 7, 2025, there will be a Mass at 10 am at St James Catholic Church, 1314 Newport St, Denver, CO 80220, and lunch will follow.
