Arlene was born on May 29, 1936, in Newman Grove, Nebraska to Rudolph and Gladys Vavra. She was the youngest of three girls. Arlene was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newman Grove, Nebraska. After she graduated from High School in 1953, she worked in Welburn Drug Store for three years and then moved to Ben, Oregon with a friend and worked at Brooks Scanlon Lumber Mills as a Bookkeeper. There she met Forrest “Pete” Webster, and they were married on February 14, 1959. Three years later, they moved back to Clayton, New Mexico where Pete was from. Together they had one son, Larry and two daughters, Sondra and Renee. Arlene worked in the High School Cafeteria for 25 years and then retired. As her license plate indicated, she adored her grandkids. But not nearly as much as they adored her! Their memories with her are numerous and wonderful and something they will treasure forever. “Grams” will be greatly missed but remembered and loved forever; she was a huge part of their lives, as they were hers. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, her parents, her two sisters, Marvelyn and Darolyn and by her daughter, Renee in 2022.
