SUMMARY:The Quebe Sisters (Shuler Theater)
DESCRIPTION:Shuler Restoration\, Inc. presents the triple-threat fiddle champions\, The Quebe Sisters\, at the Shuler Theater Friday and Saturday\, July 28th and 29th\, 7 pm. General Admission Tickets available at www.shulertheater.com\, at the Shuler Box Office and by calling 575-445-4746.\nAdults $20 / Senior Citizens $15 / Students $10 \n  \nWhen the Quebe Sisters from Texas take a stage and start playing and singing in multi-part close harmony\, audiences are usually transfixed\, then blown away. \nIt’s partly because the trio’s vocal and instrumental performances are authentic all-Americana…Country\, Western\, Western Swing. \n  \nThe Quebes’ evolution from the whiz-kid Western swing fiddlers they were back then to the smokin’-hot young adult Americana band they are today is a remarkable story\, by any measure. \nAlong with headlining their own shows to ever-growing audiences\, they’ve shared stages with American music legends like Willie Nelson\, George Strait\, Merle Haggard\, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder\, Ray Price\, Connie Smith\, Marty Stuart\, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers\, Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel\, Riders in the Sky

DESCRIPTION:Come ROAR with us in the fight against cancer on Saturday\, August 5th at Central Park in Trinidad from 4pm to 10pm. After the opening ceremony around 4:30pm we have our survivor and caregiver recognition lap where we cheer and celebrate them as they walk the track. At 9pm is our beautiful luminaria ceremony. We turn the lights off. Then we walk a lap of silence with only white paper sacks that line the tracks\, luminated by just one tea light. The bags have cancer patient names on them so they are lighting our way. This lap is very moving and should be experienced by everyone! \n  \nAll of our fundraising goes toward American Cancer Society for research and their patient service programs.  Gate fee is $3 for adults and $1 for kids\, 10 years and under are free) Also Teams & team members\, all cancer survivors & caregivers are always free too. \n  \nWe always need volunteer help for our event. If you need community service hours\, you can be credited for helping. \n  \nSee you Saturday\, August 5th at Central Park in Trinidad for ROAR for Relay for Life!!!

SUMMARY:Solar Eclipse Viewing At Capulin Volcano
DESCRIPTION:Out-of-this-World Events to be Hosted at Capulin Volcano. \nSolar eclipse viewing to be best in New Mexico \n  \nRaton\, New Mexico – Capulin Volcano National Monument will be hosting two out-of-this-world interstellar events in the month of August. Join us Monday\, August 21\, 2017\, for a rare view – a solar eclipse. Though New Mexico is out of the path of totality\, Capulin should see nearly 80 percent of the sun’s coverage. Because of this spectacular sight\, the monument will be holding a viewing event on top of the volcano for all to see. \n  \nThe eclipse is estimated to go over the volcano at 11:45 am (MST) and only last 2-3 minutes. A shuttle will be transporting visitors up and down the Volcano Road from 8:30 am (MST) until 1:00 pm (MST). There will be a telescope with a solar lens to view the eclipse\, as well as eclipse viewing glasses for sale in the park store so that all guests will have the opportunity to view the eclipse safely. In honor of this rare occurrence\, Capulin Volcano will be fee free all day Monday\, August 21\, 2017! We encourage everyone to come and experience one of the greatest cosmic events of our lifetime! \n  \nThe park will also be hosting a Night Sky program on Friday\, August 25th. Come watch the constellations and planets move across the sky and look at the galaxy through a telescope positioned at the base of the volcano. New Mexico’s night sky is a cultural treasure that many have viewed in awe and appreciation. Due to minimal light pollution\, Capulin Volcano has one of the best\, and well preserved night skies in the nation. Come and explore the “park after dark” at Capulin Volcano National Monument as we discuss some of the many mysteries the dark sky holds. We encourage visitors to begin gathering at 8:00 p.m. (MST) at the park\, with the program beginning at 9 p.m. (MDT). Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets\, warm clothes\, and folding chairs. The park bookstore will be open from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. that evening. \n  \nThere is no cost for either event\, though we do ask for guests to RSVP so Capulin can better prepare for your visit.  To RSVP\, please call the park at (575) 278-2201. \n  \nCapulin Volcano National Monument\, a unit of the National Park System\, preserves “…a striking example of a recent extinct volcano.”  The park is located on Highway 325\, 3 miles north of the town of Capulin\, NM\, 30 miles east of Raton\, NM\, and 56 miles west of Clayton\, NM.  For more about Capulin Volcano and the National Park Service\, check out our website www.nps.gov/cavo or find us on Facebook\, Twitter\, or Instagram @CapulinVolcanoNPS. \nA pdf of this news release is attached. \n  \nLynn Cartmell \nChief of Interpretation and Education \nCapulin Volcano National Monument \nP.O.
