SUMMARY:Local Historian and Author ~ Phillip Vigil Book Sale
DESCRIPTION:Phillip Arnold Vigil was born in the Purgatoire River Valley\, San Juan Plaza\, Segundo. He lived in many other places during his growing-up and adult years\, but he never forgot his Las Animas County roots. In fact\, in recent years he has become an important local historian. He has written a number of books covering various subjects concerning the history of the local area\, and has generously donated his books to the Library’s History Room. \nVigil’s recent book\, History of Education in Las Animas County 1866-1966\, is a great addition to his work. Phillip will be at the Library on Thursday morning\, June 13th\, from 9:30 to 10:30. Come and meet Phillip\, talk with him about local history\, and buy a copy of his new book.
