SUMMARY:Santa Fe Trail Mountain Man Rendezvous
DESCRIPTION:SANTA FE TRAIL Mountain Man RENDEZVOUS Monday through Saturday. \nA re-enactment of the mountain man era\, pre 1840\, on the Santa Fe Trail. \nHosted by NRA Whittington Center at Coal Canyon (off Highway 555) with 6\,800 ft. elevation\, tall pines\, grassy meadows\, & a cool stream. \nActivities include daily rifle and pistol matches\, trail walks\, smooth bore matches\, quail walk\, mountain man and mountain momma run.  Team events: survival walk\, knife & hawk walk & mountain man run.  Primitive archery events\, fire staring contest\, ma & pa cooking contest\, primitive camp contest. They will have a dessert contest\, jug contest\, and Ma and Pa egg cooking. This year there will be a “Grazing” as suggested by a few of the old timers last year. So Wednesday night plan on a giant pot luck. \nGarry and Shanna Smith are the Booshways with Doreen Webb as their Segundo. SUMMARY:Summer Craft Hour at Raton Library (Fridays)
DESCRIPTION:Arthur Johnson Memorial Library (Raton)\n \nOn Friday\, June 19\, 2015 at 3 pm we will kick off our summer craft hour.  It will be every Friday at the same time with the last one being on July 31\, 2015.  This program is open to all children.  If the child is under 10 we request that a older sibling or parent attend to help with the project for that day.  We have  different projects weekly. (Call for times.)\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\n \nWe are having our annual “Friends of the Library Book Sale” that will be held on Saturday\, June 27\, 2015\, from 10 am til 2 pm\, on the second floor of the library.  We have a variety of books that have been donated by our patrons that we are unable to use in our library due to shelf space.  We like to see these books find good homes and that is why we do this sale yearly.  Donations of books and time are always welcome to the friends and our library.\n \n
