SUMMARY:Agency Relations Council~ ARC Meeting
DESCRIPTION:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                               Contact:  Viola Lujan at (505) 471-1633\, x11 \nMay 11\, 2015                                                                                                       vlujan@thefooddepot.org \n  \n Agency Relations Council hosts May meeting \n  \nSANTA FE — Staff members from The Food Depot\, Northern New Mexico’s food bank will be conducting an Agency Relations Council (ARC) meeting at First Methodist Church\, from noon to 2 p.m.\, at 1501 4th St.\, in Raton\, N.M.\, on May 15. \n  \nThe goal of ARC is to end hunger in Colfax County by increasing food distribution to people in need. The meeting is open to the public\, and participation from community members is highly encouraged. \n  \nThe ARC assists partner agencies by working with them by pooling resources and identifying new opportunities for networking\, development strategies and training. Improving each agency’s capacity to distribute more food and services to those in need is a priority for the ARC. \nLunch will be provided for attendees. Please RSVP by May 13 to Viola Lujan\, program manager for The Food Depot\, at 505-471-1633\, extension 11\, or vlujan@thefooddepot.org. If you cannot attend the meeting and would like to participate\, please contact Viola. More information is also available at our website at www.fooddepot.org. \n  \nThe Food Depot is committed to ending hunger in Northern New Mexico. As the food bank for nine Northern New Mexico counties\, The Food Depot provides food to more than 145 nonprofit agencies including emergency food pantries\, hot meal programs\, homeless shelters\, youth programs\, senior centers\, homes for the mentally disabled and shelters for battered persons.  This service enables these agencies to stay focused on their primary missions such as sheltering homeless families\, providing hot meals to the homebound and offering life skills development to youth. The food bank distributes an average of 400\,000 pounds of food and household products each month\, providing more than 500\,000 meals to people in need — the most vulnerable of our community — children\, seniors\, working families and those in ill health. \n
