In Loving Memory of Louis Macchietto

Louis Macchietto, age 83, met his heavenly father on February 14, 2018 at home surrounded by his family in Midland, Texas after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.

Born March 26, 1934 at home in Sopris, Colorado, the son of Albert and Annie (Martorano) Macchietto. He enlisted in the Army in August 1956, served in Korea, and served for 2 years. On July 2nd, 1960 he married the love of his life Betty Garner.

Lou retired after 38 years from Safeway in Trinidad, CO. His main passions in life were his family, the Broncos, fishing, and cars.

MacchiettoLouisHe is survived in death by his children Byron (Della) Macchietto and his children Roy and Sara, Jennifer (Randy) White and their children Chad and Megan, and 3 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Byron A, and Mallory. Also surviving are his beloved sister and brother Alberta (John) Smith and Chuck (Sheila) Macchietto.

He is preceded in death by his parents, nephew Dale, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday February 20th, 2018 from 3PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.

Rosary will be Wednesday February 21st,2018 at 9AM at Comi Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday February 21st, 2018 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Active pallbearers are Chad Vecellio, Cody Anthony, Jeff Cuccia, Brett Macchietto, Chris Macchietto, and Steve Girodo.

Honorary pallbearers are his former employees and friends at Safeway.

The family wishes for all attending funeral mass to please wear red, Lou’s favorite color, or Denver Broncos apparel.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
