Carolyn Mae McKnight, age 78, gained her heavenly wings on January 26, 2018 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas after a life time of heart problems.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Mountain Time on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Church of God in Clayton, New Mexico with Pastor Mark Honeycut and Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Carolyn Mae McKnight was born to John Albert McKnight and Ella Mae (Baldridge) McKnight in route to St. Joseph hospital in Clayton, New Mexico on February 26, 1939. She grew up on the family farm 10 miles West of Felt, Oklahoma. Carolyn attended school in Felt and then transferred to Clayton schools, graduating in 1957. After graduation, Carolyn took on many “Nanny” jobs, children were her delight. She also worked domestic jobs until her health caused her retirement. Carolyn was a hard worker inside and out as she liked the sunshine. Family get-to-gathers and garage sales were her entertainment for fun. Carolyn was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Boise City. She was a daughter, sister and friend, she loved people. She would get so excited when school reunion time came, as she loved her friends and classmates, wanting to know how each were doing with their health, families and jobs. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, two nephews; Jimmy Dean Smith and Johnny McKnight III, a sister-in-law; Lydia McKnight and a brother-in-law; Dick Withrow. Carolyn loved strong and her love lives on. She will forever be missed
2 SISTERS: Ruby Ethelene Smith and her husband Jim of Sedan, New Mexico and Billy Jean Withrow of Hugoton, Kansas.
2 BROTHERS: John Albert McKnight, Jr. and his wife Helen of Felt, Oklahoma and Harvey Jefferson McKnight of Texline, Texas.
Her precious nieces and nephews, her adopted “Nanny” children and many wonderful friends.
