In Loving Memory of Rose Isabelle Vigil (Mitchell)

Rose Isabelle Vigil (Mitchell)
Born July 7, 1930 – December 23, 2017
I was given the gift of life and now I must give it back. I was blessed to have lived a long life of 87 years. I died peacefully at home after being diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. I was under the care of Hospice with my three daughters providing around the clock care. My daughter Sandi, was on duty at the time of my departure and held me in her arms.
I was born and raised in Trinidad, leaving here as a young adult. I then married and started a family with John Rascon in San Francisco, CA, returning to Trinidad in the summer of ’69. I worked as a Nurse aide at the Trinidad Nursing Home for several years, then worked for Alta Vista Group Home for a few years, and attended TSJC for a certificate in cosmetology. My hobbies included sewing and cooking. I was a member of the SDA church and served as a deaconess, hospitality ministry.
My family meant the world to me. Preceding me in death were my parents Ray and Mary Vigil, my brother Rudy Vigil, and sister Grace Lopez. I leave behind my beloved children, Gale and Randy Martinez from Las Cruces, NM, John and Loretta Rascon from California, Martin Rascon from Raton, NM, Sandra Rascon Teague from Trinidad, and Mary and Dave Gonzales from Trinidad. My children provided me with a total of 12 grandchildren which begat 27 great grandchildren, and I was delighted to see my 2 great great grandchildren recently.
