He was born October 2, 1939 in Raton to Lonnie L. and Margaret Fuqua-Hoy. Charles was a farmer for many years in the Maxwell area, a USPS mail contractor, was a member of the Maxwell United Methodist Church and served on the Springer Electric Board, Maxwell School Board, Maxwell Cooperative Water Users Board, Vermejo Conservancy Board, and SWCD Board. He is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Margaret Hoy, sister Uarda Holt, and brother-in-law Bob Atwood.
He is survived by his wife Janet of the home, three sons, Lonnie Russell Hoy and wife Tina of Maxwell, NM, Charles Rodney Hoy and companion Rosalie Sisneros of Elbert, CO, Duane Reese Hoy and wife Michelle of Logandale, NV, sister Joyce Lee Atwood of Albuquerque, NM, and brother-in-law Red Holt and wife Ethel of Cimarron, NM. Twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Friday September 15, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Maxwell High School Gymnasium with Pastor Ellen Swain officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
Arrangements and celebration of love for Charles Russel Hoy are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
