In Loving Memory of Anna Faye Baum

Anna Faye Baum, age 92, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, in Dalhart, Texas.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Travis Sullivan officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

baumAnna Faye (Higgins) Baum was born on July 30, 1925 in Wellington, Texas to Solon Lloyd Higgins and Ida Jane (Mosley) Higgins. Upon graduating High School in Olton, Texas she moved to the Higgins family ranch in Roy, New Mexico. She met and wound up marrying James Alvin “Jim” Baum in Mosquero, New Mexico on February 7, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 1, 1996 just days before their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They raised there family and ranched on the Baum Family Ranch just south of Roy until 2013. She served as the Harding County Clerk for eight years. Anna Faye led and exemplary life. She was the quiet type, but when she spoke is was usually the blunt truth and rife with wisdom. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband and parents, Anna Faye was preceded in death by two sisters, Nell Marie Redinger of Olton, Texas, Lanette Wilson of Bracketville, Texas and one brother James Marlon “Rusty” Higgins of Springfield, Colorado.

SURVIVORS:

4 DAUGHTERS: Connie Riley of Clayton, New Mexico, Terry Ebell and her husband Anthony of Roy, New Mexico, Jamie Baum of Tucson, Arizona and Nina Baum of Parker, Colorado.

10 GRANDCHILDREN: Patrick Riley, Joseph Riley, Anthony Ebell, Jr., Solon Michael Riley, Zac Ebell, Bryan Heredia, Anna Maria Heredia, Jessica Duran, Sylvia Heredia and Anita Ebell.

14 Great-Great-Grandchildren

and 4 nieces and nephews; Carla Deeds, Ronnie Redinger, Quenette Collins and Tammy Wiley.
