In Loving Memory of MaryAnn J. Torres

MaryAnn J. Torres, 91, lifelong resident of Weston, Colorado, passed away May 12, 2017.

 

MaryAnn or Annie, as she was known, was born in Weston, Colorado on April 28, 1926 to Tranguilina (Vallejos) and Ray Garcia, who preceded her in death as well as one brother, Fermin, her husband Louie, her brothers-in-law, Ben (Dora), Frank, Marty and sisters-in-law, Kate (Ray), Ann (Augie), Ida (Abe), Anita and Viola.

 

torres mAnnie graduated from Primero High School. She married Louie in 1946, and together they raised four daughters.

 

Annie was a Head Start teacher in Weston and retired from there to care for her aging parents.  She was also a 4-H leader and was very active in all Primero activities. She was well known for the beautiful cakes that she made.

 

MaryAnn is survived by her daughters, Anita (late Jerry) Leasure, Sandy (Ken) Neely, Valerie (Larry) Borrego, and Yvonne Arguello, grandchildren, Kimberly (Gene) Tosti, Luanna Trujillo, JW (Jolene) Borrego and Richie Arguello,  great grandchildren, Oakley Wade, Aspen Jayde, Victoria and Phoenix Yvonne, Also  surviving is one special cousin/sister-in-law, Rachel Torres and numerous nieces, nephews and friends including the loving and caring employees of Columbine Chateau and most recently the staff of Tammy & Marty’s Cozy Adult Care and Frontier Hospice, Joye, and her two home caregivers Kim and Doris. 

 

Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Comi Chapel from 10AM-Noon at the Comi Chapel. Rosary will follow at Noon at the Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 1PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

 

Interment with Rite of Committal will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers are Marti Torres, Rachel Torres, Viola Bradeen, Theresa Herrera, Wendy Torres and MaryLou Garcia.

Active pallbearers are Larry Borrego, Ken Neely (Terry Torres), JW Borrego, Richie Arguello, Oakley Holderman, Jacob Trujillo and Bob Nielson.
