In Loving Memory of Antoinette M. Martinez

Antoinette M. Martinez born January 27, 1950 in Raton, New Mexico, she went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2017.

Antoinette is preceded in death by her parents Phil T. Vargas and Bertha M. Vargas, son Manuel A. Vargas, Grandparents Bridgo and Carlota Salazar and Nabor and Pablita Vargas, Sister-in-law Priscilla Vargas and many other family members.

She is survived by her husband Eloy Martinez, daughter Veronica Sanchez and son Joseph Vargas, sisters Lucille (Gilbert) Gutierrez, Jeanette (Pete) Martinez and brother Michael Vargas. Grandchildren Shantele Medkiff, Ryan (Alicia) Sanchez, Katrina Vargas and Rachel Sanchez. Great grandchildren Isaiah Sanchez, Serenity Medkiff and Cayden Shaffer. Also numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.

martinex antoiAntoinette was a loving housewife and mother. She was employed with Children, Youth and Families where she enjoyed working with her elderly clients and co-workers. She retired from the Miners’ Colfax Medical Center Long Term Care Center as a ward clerk where she enjoyed all the residents. She enjoyed playing bingo, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Visitation will be Sunday February 26, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel in Raton. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Monday February 27, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Michael Vargas and Frank Cimino, Mass of the resurrection will follow at 10:30 A.M. with Father William Woytavich as the celebrant, rite of Christian burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery in Raton.

Arrangements and celebration of love for Antoinette M. Martinez are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
