In Loving Memory of Sandra Sue Ferri

Sandra Sue Ferri was born Sandra Sue McKelvie, to Charlie and Mary McKelvie on June 11, 1945 in Alamosa, Colorado.

She joined her older sister Cindy and brother Bob. She was raised in Alamosa and during her Senior year in High School, she and Cindy moved to El Paso, Texas with Grandpa and Granny Wilson where she graduated from El Paso High School.  Soon after, she met Frank Ferri, who was in the U.S. Navy at that time. They were married in Raton at the First Baptist Church on June 14, 1963.  This coming June would have been their 54th Anniversary. This marriage was blessed with two children, Michael Ray Ferri in 1964 and Brenda Lee Ferri in 1969. Michael married Maria and they were blessed with a son, Michael James and a daughter, Erika Faith. In later years, Mike married a second time, and Michelle Albert became Michelle Ferri and she too was a blessing to the family. Brenda was blessed with a daughter, Dorian.  Soon, Sandy and Frank not only had grandkids, but great grandkids. Mikey J and Yvonne had Isaac (6), James (3) and a new baby girl, Genevieve (6 weeks). Dorian had Nehemiah (3) and a new baby girl Ersella (4 weeks).

SandraFerriSandy had a large happy family and lots of good friends. She loved her God, her family and her friends. Her great passion in life was bowling! Sandy was a happy, loving person who saw the good in everyone and was always doing something for someone to make their life a little more pleasant. She was a caregiver and took care of two elderly aunts until their passing. Her faith was solid, and she told Frank, “If you want to put a rose on my grave on my birthday, you can, but I’m not gonna be there, I’ll be with Jesus!” And that was the Sandy Ferri that we all knew and loved!

The Ferri family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and love to Robin Pilley and the Ambercare Hospice Staff. Robin is truly an angel of mercy who provides comfort and love to families in their greatest time of need. May God Bless and keep her.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Frank Ferri of Raton. Son, Mike Ferri of Denver, CO.  Daughter Michelle of Strausgurg, CO.  Daughter, Brenda Ferri of Raton. Grandson, Michael Ferri and family of Las Cruces. Granddaughter Erika Ferri of Raton. Grandaughter Dorian McGinnis and family of Rio Rancho.  Brother-n-law Andrew “Tad” Piancino of Raton. Sister-n-law, Karen McKelvie of Raton. Nephew, David Piancino and wife Chrissy of Raton.  Numerous great nieces and nephews, as well as her extended bowling family.

Many hearts are heavy at this time, so sad. I too bowled with Sandy. We occasionally cross paths with Frank and he always greeted us kindly. They really are kind people and we are happy to know them. May our Father in Heaven above watch over this family and guide them through this time of grief.
