Willow Springs Academy Withdraws Application For New Charter School In Raton

The New Mexico PEC Application to become a New Charter School in Raton has been withdrawn by Willow Springs Academy Charter School. The Community Input Hearing Meeting that was to be held July 21st in Raton has been cancelled.

Willow Springs Academy released this statement  on Monday, July 18th to KRTN: “Willow Springs Academy is withdrawing the application for charter at this time.  The NM Public Education Department has expressed concerns that our community is not able to support two schools and most likely will not approve the charter for the 2017-18 school year.

The founders of Willow Springs Academy are hopeful to continue the advancement of education in our community.  We would like to thank everyone who has supported the vision of Willow Springs Academy.  Please direct further questions to www.willowspringsacademy.com or find us on Facebook.”
