The Lady Tigers took advantage of the warmer day and sunny skies to mark the win column despite yesterday’s injuries to players.

Mariah Encinias returned to centerfield with a bruised knee while Natausha Ortega hobbled along in the dugout with a very sore foot after their collision in yesterday’s game with Laguna Acomo. Coach Tina Dorrance moved players around to fill the vacancy left by Ortega at shortstop and started Camryn Mileta at pitcher Saturday afternoon.

Raton struck first with as Mileta knock one into the outfield and makes it a double. The bats continued to catch balls and Raton runners rounded the bases for a total of six runs in the first inning. Angelica Barela connected for the Lady Bears and started a five run rally that saw Mileta move to right field and Natasha Archuleta leave shortstop for the pitchers stripe where she finished off the rally.

Raton rallied on a hit from Jadyn Walton and added another five runs to make it an 11-5 ball game. Raton went on to add four more in the fourth while pitcher Natasha Archuleta retired seven batters on strike outs and with a strong effort by the defense held Estancia off for a 15-5 win. Archuleta retired three of those seven in the fifth inning for the five inning win on the 10-run rule.
