In Loving Memory of Virginia Sanchez

Virginia May (Herrera) Sanchez, passed away in Pueblo Colorado on February 2, 2016, at the Life Care Center of Pueblo, at the age of 88.

She was born in Trinchera, Colorado to Nefe Herrera and Julia (Sandoval) Herrera on February 16, 1927.

sanchez virginiaOn January 18, 1947, Virginia was united in marriage to Nick Sanchez in Raton, New Mexico,  She became a homemaker, Wife, terrific Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Virginia loved playing her organ, singing hymns, reading her Bible and crafts of all types.

Preceding her in death is husband Nick, son Nick L. Sanchez, parents Nefe and Julia Herrera, brothers Joe B. Herrera, Ernest Herrera, two brothers in law and five sisters in law.

Survivors include daughters Vickie (Ron) Thomas, of Denver, Verlie (Joe) Hunt, of Phoenix, AZ, grandson Lonny (Terri) Martinez of Pueblo, three great granddaughters who were her pride and joy, twins, Lori and Emmy and  Alana, brother Lawrence Herrera, sisters Lucille (Charles) Salas, Ruby (John) Santistevan all of Trinidad, brothers and sisters in law, Leroy (Phyllis) Sanchez, AZ, Pauline Abeyta, CA, Sheryl Sanchez, AZ, numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 3PM-7PM at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral  Services will be Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 10AM at the First Christian Church with Pastor Cary Nelson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Trinidad Masonic Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Clifford Salas, Brett Duran, Lane Velarde, Cordell Herrera, Peter Ackerman and Bill Sanchez.

Persons wishing to do so may make contributions to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice, Pueblo, CO.

The family may be contacted at the home address.
