Feb. 2NortheastCharette Lakes: Closed for the season. Cimarron River: We had no reports from anglers this week. Conchas Lake: Fishing pressure was very light and fishing was slow for all species. Cowles Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week. Coyote Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week. Eagle Rock Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Eagle Nest Lake: As of this past Sunday, the ice averaged about 14 inches thick across the lake. Fishing was fair using small gold Kastmasters and jigs tipped with meal worms for a combination of perch, trout and kokanee. We had no reports on northern pike. For updated ice conditions, contact the State Park office at 575-377-1594. Gallinas River: We had no reports from anglers this week. Hopewell Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Lake Alice: The ice thickness as of this past Sunday was 15 inches. We had no reports from anglers. Lake Maloya: The ice thickness as of this past Sunday was about 12 inches. Fishing for trout was very good using homemade dough bait, corn, PowerBait, jigging spoons and ice jigs. For further updates on ice conditions, contact the Sugarite State Park office at 575-445-5607. Los Pinos river: We had no reports from anglers this week. Maxwell Lake 13: Closed for the season. Monastery Lake: Closed due to ice covering the lake. This lake is not open to ice fishing. Morphy Lake: Closed for the season. Pecos River: Stream flow on Monday was 28 cfs. Fishing in the Villanueva area was fair using power eggs and salmon eggs for trout. Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday was 47cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week. Rio Costilla: We had no reports from anglers this week. Put this one on your list for great spring fishing. Rio Grande: Stream flow on Monday at the Taos Junction Bridge was 515 cfs. Fishing was slow to fair using streamers for trout. We had no reports on other species. Rio Hondo: We had no reports from anglers this week. Rio Pueblo: We had no reports from anglers this week. Santa Barbara: We had no reports from anglers this week. Santa Cruz Reservoir: We had no reports from anglers this week. Shuree Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week. Springer Lake: Ice fishing is not allowed on this lake. Storrie Lake: As of Monday morning, the lake was once again covered with a thin layer of ice and closed to fishing. For ice condition updates, contact the State Park office at 505-425-7278. Stubblefield Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Ute Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was light. Winsor Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week. NorthwestAbiquiu Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Animas River: Water flow near Aztec on Monday morning was 300 cfs. Trout fishing was fair to good using worms, streamers and PowerBait. Albuquerque Area Drains: Trout fishing on the Albuquerque Drain, Albuquerque Drain South, Belen Drain and the Peralta Drain was good using wax worms, power eggs, small jigs and salmon eggs. We had no reports on other species or from other drains. Bluewater Lake: High winds and sun have broken up the ice and the lake has closed to ice fishing until further notice. For updated ice conditions, contact the State Park office at 505-876-2391. Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week. Canjilon Lakes: Closed by the U.S. Forest Service until further notice due to danger from falling trees. Chama River: Monday morning water flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 95 cfs and 72 cfs respectively. Fishing below Abiquiu was good using small midge patterns and worms for trout. Fishing below El Vado was good using wooly buggers and an assortment of small nymphs for a mixed bag of brown and rainbow trout. Cochiti Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. El Vado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Fenton Lake: As of this past Sunday, the ice thickness was from 12 to 14 inches. Fishing was good using wax worms, salmon eggs, PowerBait, small Kastmasters and ice jigs tipped with wax worms for trout. Heron Lake: Ice thickness as of Monday was 10 inches. Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez River near Jemez Springs on Monday morning was 26 cfs. Fishing on the Jemez was fair using wax worms and salmon eggs for trout. Fishing pressure was very light. We had no reports on other streams in the area. Laguna Del Campo: Closed for the season. Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week. Manzano Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Navajo Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was very light. San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers. San Juan River: Water flow below Navajo Lake on Monday morning was 293 cfs. Trout fishing through the Quality Waters was good using bunny leeches, midge clusters, egg patterns, and small streamers. Fishing through the bait waters was fair to good using worms, power eggs, PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. Seven Springs Brood Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week. Tingley Beach: Trout fishing at the Central Pond and Youth Pond was good using wax worms, power eggs, corn, PowerBait and small jigs. Trout fishing at the Bob Gerding Catch and Release Pond was good using zebra midges, egg patterns, small leach patterns and small streamers. We had no reports on other species. Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week. SouthwestAlumni Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week. Bear Canyon: Fishing was slow to fair using PowerBait, power eggs, corn and worms for trout. We had no reports on other species. Bill Evans Lake: Fishing was good using meal worms, PowerBait, Gulp eggs, garlic cheese and Kastmasters for trout. We had no reports on other species. Caballo Lake: Fishing pressure was extremely light and fishing was slow for all species with just a few white bass caught by anglers using slab spoons. Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was slow but there were a few white bass caught by anglers using slab spoons and largemouth bass caught by anglers using jigs and spoons. We had no reports from anglers this week. Escondida Lake: Fishing was fair using PowerBait, wax worms and homemade dough bait for trout. We had no reports on other species. Gila River: Stream flow as of Monday morning was 178 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week. Glenwood Pond: Fishing was good using PowerBait for trout. Lake Roberts: Fishing was fair using salmon eggs, PowerBait and worms for trout. Percha Dam: We had no reports from anglers this week. Quemado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Rio Grande: Stream flow below Elephant Butte as of Monday morning was zero cfs. Fishing was fair to good using worms, PowerBait, corn and salmon eggs for trout. We had no reports on other species. Greene Acres Lake: Fishing was good using garlic cheese, salmon eggs, corn and PowerBait for trout.
