Vella J. Courtney, age 95, passed away on November 20, 2015 at Mt. San Rafael Hospital .
She was born in Trinidad, CO on September 4. 1920, the daughter of Vella (White) and Henry E. Dowling.
On March 26, 1943, Vella was united in marriage to Howard P. Courtney.
She loved to sew, crochet, read and cook.
Vella was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Trinidad OES #1.
Preceding her in death are parents, Vella and Henry Dowling, husband Howard P. Courtney ,siblings, Robert, Marybelle, Fred and other relatives.
Survivors are her loving daughter Gail Jean Courtney (Ruben Corral) home address, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday from 4PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday December 1, 2015 at 10AM at the United Methodist Church with Glenn Davis officiating.
Interment will follow at the Trinidad Masonic Cemetery with services conducted by Order of Eastern Star.
The family respectfully requests that their privacy be respected and no visitors at the home address.
