In Loving Memory of Donald Richard Pompeo

DONALD RICHARD POMPEO, 75, a resident of Los Alamos passed away at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO on Sunday, September 27, 2015 following a brief illness.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Fay Pompeo; brother, Harry Pompeo, Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Lena Mae Barkley.

Donald PompeoDon will be remembered as a happy man with an infectious smile and for the generosity of his time in helping others. He loved the game of golf and was an active member of the Northern New Mexico Senior Men’s Golf Association. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Mr. Pompeo is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vonetta; daughters, Dawnetta Pompeo of Ulysses, KS, Valeria Goad and husband Lonnie; granddaughter, Madeline (Maddie) Goad of Sealy, TX; sisters, Emma Weaver, Viola Peterson and Dorothy Quartieri and husband Ronnie; sisters-in-law, Rita Wilson and husband Gary, Vonita Blan and Davida Hawkes and husband Douglas and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Northern New Mexico Senior Men’s Golf Association Scholarship Fund. Donations may be mailed to NNMSMGA Scholarship, 60 El Rio Drive, Alamosa, CO 81101.
