In Loving Memory of Walter F. Henckel

Walter F. Henckel, age 96, died Sunday, September 27, 2015, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Walter F. Henckel was born on January 12, 1919 in Denver, Colorado to Walter G. E. Henckel and Margarete (Freund) Henckel. He served in the US Navy during WWII and then after he returned from the Navy he began work as a glazer at a glass company in Denver and later in Reno, Nevada. He married Norris (Walker) Henckel in Reno, Nevada and she preceded him in death on October 28, 2006. While they lived in Reno, he owned a mobile home park. He sold the mobile home park in 1973 and moved to Brookings, Oregon in 1974 where he lived until he joined Brian and Linda Moore at their home in Clayton on April 2, 2015. Walter’s great love was deep sea fishing.

SURVIVORS:

Several nieces and nephews including Brian and Linda Moore of Clayton, New Mexico, the Rawson family and the Griffin family of Georgia and the Rawson/Lundgren family of Sweden.
