In Loving Memory of Lee Mincic

Lee Mincic, age 84, passed away on November 26, 2014.  He was born in Sopris, Colorado on April 6, 1930, the son of Savita “Elisabeta” (Potre) and Vasili (Charles) Mincic. 

He attended and graduated from Sopris High School in 1949 and was Vice President of his class.  Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he became an aircraft propeller mechanic and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.  While in service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal. 

On December 23, 1951, Lee was united in marriage to Mary Louise Ferraro at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad, Colorado. Together, they celebrated over 62 years of marriage. 

After his military career, he returned home and began working for the C&W Railroad for many years.  He later became employed with C&S / Burlington Northern Railroad where he became foreman of the Bridge Crew until retirement.

Lee was a member and officer of the Redman Lodge for many years and a member of the To Aide the Handicap (Tath) organization.

Lee was very skilled at carpentry and wood work.  He loved to build and remodel homes and worked on many projects with his brothers.  He loved to fish and be outdoors but his greatest joy was his family. 

Preceding him in death are his wife Mary Louise Mincic, son Joseph Anthony Mincic, parents Vasili (Charles) and Savita (Elisabeta) Mincic, brothers Charles (Chuck) Mincic and John Mincic, sisters and brothers in law John (Liz) Ferraro, Frank Ferraro, Rose Marie Mincic, Ruth Ferraro and mother and father in law, Carmella (Joe) Chifalo, and Frank Ferraro.

Survivors are his children Sandy (August) Morelli, Trinidad, CO, Charles (Carol) Mincic, Trinidad, CO, Mary Kim Mincic, Trinidad, CO, grandchildren, Christina (Dan) Belger, Larkspur, CO, Melissa Mincic, Denver, CO, DeAnna Morelli, Trinidad, CO, Dustin (Michelle) Mincic, Pueblo West, CO, Regina Morelli (Ryan Low), Trinidad, CO, Matthew Mincic (Tonya Arnold), Trinidad, CO, Cara (Daniel) Vigil, Trinidad, CO, great grandchildren, Aimee, Liam and Logan Mincic, great step grandchildren, Katelynn and Jamie Low, brothers Nick (Lenore) Mincic, Pete Mincic all of Trinidad, Tony (Theresa) Mincic,Westminister, CO, sister in law Mary Ann Mincic, Model, CO, Evelyn Ferraro, Trinidad, CO, brother in law Buddy Michael Ferraro (Rosalie Falduto) numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, December 1, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Comi Chapel.  Funeral will be Tuesday, December 2, 2014, with Rosary at 12:00 p.m. at the Comi Chapel followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment with Rite of Committal will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with graveside services conducted by Ft. Carson Honor Guard.

Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Terry, Joe Micheli, Sam Incitti, Dr. Lawrence Low, Tyler Haun, Frank Falsetto, Ryan Low, and Dan Belger. 

Active Pallbearers are Dustin Mincic, Matthew Mincic, Mike Mincic, Craig Mincic, Dean Ferraro, and Tyrel Mincic-Barry.
