Patchwork Phoenix Rises

By Marty Mayfield

KRTN Multi-Media

The newly opened Patchwork Phoenix cut the red ribbon today to officially open its doors to the public on Raton’s Historic First Street Friday at noon.

Along with the Raton Ambassadors, Raton chamber of Commerce and our own KRTN staff Hal and Laura Brewer took the big scissors and cut the ribbon to welcome one and all to the store. The store will feature quilts, quilting supplies and material, along with ice cream, drinks and a gallery of paintings and pictures on the wall.

The Brewers loved Raton so much that when Hal finally retired from the railroad they decided to stay here and as a result opened the new store. This will add one more shop to help revitalize the historic First Street in downtown Raton.
