Osos Get Much Needed Win Over Fuegos

While the Fuegos put the first run on the board in the first inning the Osos stayed the course and put together a sixth inning 5-run rally to take the lead and eventually the 10-7 win Wednesday evening at Gabriele Field.

Chris Williams started the scoring for Raton with a single over the right center field fence in the second inning. It was a slow game from there until the sixth when Raton’s CJ Epperson singled and Evan Holton walks and Thomas Barksdale singles bringing the speedster CJ in and advancing Holton to second. Both Holton and Barksdale steal bases to setup the next two runs for Raton.

Raton scored again in the next two innings to outscore Santa Fe 3-2 to hold off the Fuego and win the game.

The Osos are off tonight and have a double header in Taos on Friday. They return to Raton for games Saturday and Sunday.
