In Memory of Maurice V. Rogers

Maurice V. Rogers, age 77, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at his home in Clayton, New Mexico.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Clayton, New Mexico with Pete Riss, officiating.

Maurice V. Rogers was born on November 5, 1936 in Mitchell, Nebraska to Maurice V. Rogers, Sr. and Evelyn (Reynolds) Rogers. Maurice was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. He married Bernice (Prickett) Rogers on June 12, 1955 in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. Maurice worked as a taxidermist and a landscaper for many years. They lived in New Castle, Wyoming, Golden, Colorado and Colorado Springs, Colorado before moving to Kenton, Oklahoma where the lived and ranched until the moved to Clayton five years ago. Maurice was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness’s on June 19, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Evelyn Rogers, 1 son; David Rogers and 3 sisters; Ada Rogers, Nona Springer and Rosealice Green.

WIFE: Bernice Rogers of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 SONS: Kenneth Rogers of Denver, Colorado and Steve Rogers and his wife Sharon of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 DAUGHTER: Christina Clark of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Tina Riss and her husband Pete of Lakewood, Colorado.

1 SISTER: Reta Seling and her husband Skip of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

5 GRANDCHILDREN: Jeffrey Clark and his wife Amy of Bellingham, Washington, Trevor Clark and his wife Brittany of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Rachel Clark of Peyton, Colorado, Willow Rogers of Lakewood, Colorado and Sara Rogers of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Rebecca Clark and Emily Clark both of Bellingham, Washington.

And numerous nieces and nephews.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the World Wide Work of Jehovah’s Witness in memory of Maurice Rogers care of the Farmers and Stockmans bank of Clayton.
