CITY OF RATON REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING

RATON CITY HALL, 224 SAVAGE AVE

   TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2013 AT 6PM

 

A regular meeting of the City Commission of the City of Raton will be held on November 26, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.  The Meeting will be called to order by Mayor LeDoux. The following subjects will be considered by the City Commission and may be considered in any order that is most convenient for the City Commission. 

 

  • I.               Meeting Called To Order – Mayor LeDoux.

 

  • II.             Roll Call of the Members of the City Commission and determination of quorum.

 

  • III.           Pledge of Allegiance to the U. S. Flag.

 

  • IV.           Recognition of Visitors, Citizen of the Month and/or Presentation of Proclamation, Service Award, Congratulations, Condolences, Holiday Schedules and City/Municipal events – Mayor.

 

  • All City Offices will close at noon on November 27, 2013 for the Thanksgiving Holiday
  • All City Offices will be closed November 28th and 29th for the Thanksgiving Holiday
  • Next Regular Commission Meeting December 10, 2013 at 6 pm

A.    Approval of the November 12, 2013 Regular Commission Meeting Minutes.

B.    Deliberate and Act on Approval of the 2nd Annual Reindeer Dash on December 7, 2013.

C.   Deliberate and Act on Resolution 2013-48: A Resolution to Adopt Smart Growth Principles.

D.   Deliberate and Act on Lodger’s Tax Recommendations.

E.    Deliberate and Act on Resolution 2013-47: October 2013 Financials.

F.    Deliberate and Act on Downtown Tower lease for Baca Valley Telephone Company.

G.   Deliberate and Act on Grant Agreement #2013-1119: An agreement for $15,000.00 to make improvements for building code compliance, including purchasing and installation of equipment, to the Raton Senior Center in Colfax County.

H.   Deliberate and Act on introduction to Ordinance No. 987: Raton Natural Gas Franchise

I.      Deliberate and Act on Award of Solid Waste transportation bid.

J.     Deliberate and Act on City of Raton vs. Andy Holman, et.al/El Portal- authorization to allow City attorney to commence proceedings, including litigation, against the above, to collect landfill fees and any other costs or expenses related to the fire(s) occurring on the property commonly referred to as the El Portal.

I, the undersigned authority do hereby certify that the above notice of meeting of the governing body of the City of Raton, New Mexico is a true and correct copy of the said notice and that a said copy of this notice was then posted on the front window of the City Hall of said City in Raton, New Mexico in a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public at all times, and said notice was posted on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 5 p.m. and remained so posted continuously at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said meeting.  Said notice was also posted in six public places (Library, Aquatic Center, Senior Center, County Courthouse, International Bank, Post Office) conveniently placed for the public. Also, KRTN Radio Station and the City of Raton Website will have the agenda posted prior to respective time limits designated for regular and special meetings.
