Dorothy Mae Griego

Dorothy Mae Griego departed life on September 17, 2013.  She was born January 17, 1930 in Echo, UT the daughter of Valentine Martinez & Ophelia Vigil-Martinez.

 Dorothy attended Holy Trinity School graduating in 1949.   Her working career included several positions related to housekeeping, custodial work and motel management. Although her life was dedicated to work and family, she also created opportunities to enjoy her hobbies of sewing, dancing and caring for her special canine companion, Holly. Dorothy will be missed by family and the many friends and acquaintances she developed in her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by husband Joseph O. Griego, parents, and brothers John Martinez, Joe Martinez & Rose Madrigal.

Survivors are children Edward (Karen) Griego of Trinidad, Mildred Griego of Longmont, CO, Randy (Loretta Griego) of Trinidad and George (Marquita) Griego of Aurora, CO. Grandchildren Jean (Patrick) Incitti, Kathleen Griego Jacqui Lopez, Timothy (Sarah) Thomason, Salina Griego, Allison (Matt Ritz) and Crissy Griego.   Great GrandChildren Kayla Incitti,  Aiden Ritz and Sydney Thomason. Brother Robert (Margaret) Martinez,  Carmen (Ruben) Gutierrez and Anita (John) Boyer, Sister-in-law Maxine Griego.  She is also survived by numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00PM-4:00PM at the Comi Chapel.

Funeral Services will be Monday September 23, 2013  with Rosary at 9:00AM at the Comi Chapel followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Church.

Entombment will follow at the Resurrection Mausoleum, Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are granddaughters Jean, Kathleen, Jacqui, Salina, Allison and Crissy.

 Active pallbearers are Jason Madrid, Bill Larson, Tim Thomason, Matt Ritz, Donald Gonzales and Harold L. Thomason

The family respectfully requests the omission of food and flowers and donations be made to the Trinidad Inn Nursing Home, Sangre de Cristo Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Foundation in Dorothy’s memory.
