Cornelia MartinezCornelia Martinez, age 84, died Sunday, September 1, 2013, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 4, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton with Fr. Glenn Jones, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Cornelia Martinez was born on July 11, 1929 in Folsom, New Mexico to Juan de Jesus Sisneros and Tomasita (Archuleta) Sisneros. A lifelong resident of Union County, Cornelia lived most of her life in Clayton. She worked as a housekeeper for many people and business’s and as a waitress. She also worked in the nursing field at the hospital and nursing home in Clayton for several years. In addition to her parents, Cornelia was preceded in death by a sister; Ernestine Trujillo, a brother; Gilbert Sisneros, two other siblings as infants and a grandson; John Martinez.

SURVIVORS:

6 DAUGHTERS: Loyola Ellsworth of Boise City, Oklahoma, Diane Martinez, Jo Ann Padilla and her husband Tony and Kathy Drumm and her husband David all of Clayton, New Mexico, Julia Martinez and her husband Fidel Borrego of Killgore, Texas and Stephanie Rodriguez of Raton, New Mexico.

2 SONS: John Martinez and his wife Rita of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Charles Sisneros of Eagle Grove, Iowa.

2 SISTERS: Martha Sisneros and Beatrice Maynes both of Clayton, New Mexico.

3 BROTHERS: John Sisneros of Dalhart, Texas, Paul Sisneros of Seneca, New Mexico and George Sisneros of Aztec, New Mexico.

22 Grandchildren, 46 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

MEMORIALS: The family suggests that memorials be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Altar Society.
